Volunteer Roles

Advocacy

Speak on behalf of the College-Rolando Library at city council meetings, civic groups, and with your neighbors to build support for your community library.

Book Sales

Help out in the Friends’ Book Sale room — sort donations, assist customers, and help raise funds that support programs and resources at the library.

Communications

Get the word out by drafting announcements, creating event flyers, writing blog posts, or taking photographs at library events.

How to Volunteer

Email us at crlibraryfriends@gmail.com if you can make a positive contribution to our library community. Have other ideas? Let us know how you’d like to volunteer — we’d love to hear from you!

Volunteer Hour Tracking

Current volunteers should record the hours you volunteer at our branch. All work is important to note — from administrative tasks and book sales to event planning and outreach.

The San Diego City Council designated September 19, 2011 as “Friends of the College-Rolando Library Day” in recognition of our volunteers’ contributions to the community.
